Blogging Advice

I am feeling the need to really one up my blog and I would love some advice from all you blogging experts!

What do you think of my look?

Where can you get the best deal when creating a custom look for a blog?

Do you have any suggestions for useful gadgets, apps, etc. to include on a blog page?

Do you have any advice for me and how I could better my blog?

I look forward to reading your comments and suggestions, I would love to learn how to make my blog the best it can be! Thank you!

Love Always,

  1. You are always so sweet, Samantha! Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog, I'd be happy to offer any suggestions I can! :)

Since I do layout, graphic and web design I always create and program my own looks so I'm not sure where the best deals are for it, but I'm always happy to help in any way!

I think it is great that your blog is so clean and easy to navigate, that is always inviting to a reader! :) Yours actually looks a lot like mine did when I first started...I had a bunch of little pictures running down the side column of my blog of friends, family, etc...great way for people to get to see and know you and your world a little when you start. As your blog evolves you begin to get a better feel for what you like, what your blog is about and what your readers tend to enjoy most and it changes a bit, I think.

Honestly, I think your blog is cute, but perhaps you want to tie the little side categories into the look and have them match the color and feel of your header, especially if you end up changing your header up a bit...kind of to make everything match and look unified...so like blue writing that is embossed and shadowed like your header! :)

Feel free to let me know if you any specific questions or need help with anything! Thanks again for always being so supportive, and I hope you have a Marvelous Monday ahead! Can't wait to see how your blog grows and changes as you do over time! Yay! Hope that helps you some! :)

  3. You are so sweet & I'd be glad to help with what I can!

I agree with a lot of what Liesl said!
Having everything unified really makes a big difference and it helps
establish consistency so people will recognize your blog and they will remember it!
The design that I have now is a pre-made layout that I got from Green Tangerine Design.
It cost me around $30...so not too bad!

If you have any specific questions I would love to help you in any way that I can :)
I'm not very tech-savvy but hey, we can learn together!

Sorry it's taken me so long to stop by, but I wanted to say my advice is always to invest in a simple, custom design (or even a premade one)... it makes all the difference in the world! Also, I have lots more tips and tricks here, if you haven't seen them yet! :) http://storyofmylifetheblog.blogspot.com/p/blogging-tips.html
